The Birthday Short

Hello Friends! How are you? How was your weekend? Thank you all for all your birthday wishes Saturday! It was a wonderful 24th birthday! My family gave me the surprise gifts of gifts… It’s an Old Russian 16mm Film Camera called a Krasnogorsk K-3. It’s the camera my favorite director started out using. i never thought i would get one, and really didn’t even know they knew how much i wanted it!. Thanks my family! Love you! ;) It was especially amazing cause i’ve been wanting to get a little more into directing films… so now i have to, huh? i’ve got a concept already for my first short film.. I’ll let you know more about it when i’m ready cause i will probably need some help! hah ;) Ok, so as a thank you to all of you for supporting me, i thought on my birthday, it’s better to give than receive… So i made you all this video… This was my first time experimenting with my own version of Walt Disney’s Mulitplane Camera. I felt like a Mad Scientist making this… My Studio is thrashed and it’s so tough working on glass and using dimension… well, I hope you like it. :) Oh, the picture i drew was off of my sketch for the Series on Love. Click Here to see more videos P.S. Can you all Help me pass the video on to people, lets see how many people we can get watch it! ;)

hey! i've always been a HUGE fan of your work; the video is amazing! i just forwarded this to everyone on my email contact list!

you probably don't take requests but i was wondering if you could possibly maybe draw her? (http://lacouturiernyc.wordpress.com/2009/07/15/take-a-p-e-e-k/) i dunno if you've heard of her but she's the mysterious “la couturier”, one of my favorite bloggers/writers” & she's also a huuuge fan of yours! this is the first picture she's ever shown of herself (we readers have never seen her face yet) so i thought it'd be cool if you did this?

    i love your work!!! =)

  15. Wow, Danny, I feel so silly having just discovered your blog! You are incredibly talented, your art is so beautiful. When I read your profile I laughed out loud at how you thought concrete was made. It's quite obvious your creative nature was innate :)

    Belated Happy Birthday!
I think it's so sweet when family/friends surprise us with the little things they take note of when we don't even know.

  16. I had to watch this video the first time without any volume, and I still loved it utterly.

But the music makes it so much better, it's the exact kind of music I listen to when I paint haha.
